We’ve spent a few weeks designing things for the Sonder Music and Arts Festival, during that time I have created a poster, flayer and a ticket.
All of which bring the idea of music and arts across in one way or another. I feel like I did a good job of showing what Sonder was about across the three things I created for the festival. The music and arts aspect are shown in one way or another through all three creations. I used various different tools to create the ticket, including; the shape tool, the gradient tool, the brush tool and the mixer brush tool. In order to create the poster and the flyer I used Adobe Illustrator, I used a brush tool for the poster and inserted images into both the flyer and the poster by pulling them into the open page from their original position. I feel like the design itself is the best part of each of the creations, with the possible exception of the flyer, the worst part is probably anything drawn on to them. I feel like I could have done even better if I had more time.

There are several different graphic file formats that can be used in Media. Some more common then others, likewise some are easier to create than others are.
A PDF (Portable Document Format) is a file format that has captured all the elements of a printed document as an electronic image that you can view, navigate, print, or forward to someone else. PDF files are created using Adobe Acrobat, Acrobat Capture or similar products. JPEG is the term used for any graphic image file produced by using a JPEG standard. A JPEG file is created by choosing from a range of compression qualities, when you create a JPEG or convert an image from another format to a JPEG, you are asked to specify the quality of image you want. Since the highest quality results in the largest file, you can make a trade-off between image quality and file size. A PNG file is compressed in lossless fashion, which means that all image information is restored when the file is decompressed during viewing. A PNG file lets the creator make a trade-off between file size and image quality when the image is compressed. A TIFF file (Tag Image File Format) is a common format for exchanging raster graphics (bitmap) images between application programs, including those used for scanner images. An animated GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) file is a graphic image on a web page that moves. In particular, an animated GIF is a file that contains, within the single file, a set of images that are presented in a specified order. A GIF can either loop endlessly or it can present one or a few sequences and then stop the animation. A PSD file is a layered image file used in Adobe Photoshop. PSD, which stands for Photoshop Document, is the default format that Photoshop uses for saving data. PSD is a proprietary file that allows the user to work with the images’ individual layers even after the file has been saved. AI (Adobe Illustrator) is a file extension for a vector graphics file format used in an Adobe Illustrator drawing. Adobe Illustrator is a popular vector graphics-based drawing program. The AI format is a strictly limited, highly simplified subset of EPS. A raw file is the image as seen by the camera's sensor. Think of it like unprocessed film. Rather than letting the camera process the image for you, turning it into a JPEG image, shooting in raw allows you to process the image to your liking. Rasterisation is the task of taking an image made out of shapes and converting it into a raster image made out of pixels or dots either for output on a video display or printer, or for storage in a bitmap file format. |
